Have you ever been SO angry that you wanted to smash something, throw something against the wall, or even hit someone? It’s perfectly normal to feel anger and frustration, but we need to have appropriate outlets for these more challenging emotions or we’ll end up doing something destructive, like taking it out on someone.
In today’s episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m joined by Aria Tru, NLP Transformational Life Coach and founder of Women Breaking Plates, an organization she formed to give women a fun, cathartic way to break free of old habits, patterns, traumas, and emotions. As the name of the organization suggests, at Women Breaking Plates events, women have the opportunity to write on plates the things that no longer serve them, things they want to get rid of, and then shatter them. This is part of a larger event in which women support each other, are supported by a variety of healers, and take physical actions that help make shifts in their own bodies and in their lives.
In this episode, Aria talks about:
- The importance of recognizing that one is able to change, and making a decision and taking steps to change
- How traumatic events enter our bodies through our five senses and how we need to learn new ways to rewire our system to process and release the traumas
- Our sacred rage that needs to be expressed
- Instead of thinking about having emotional blockages, see it as emotions that haven’t yet been expressed
- The importance of acknowledging and listening to the hurt parts of ourselves
- The Empowerment Parties held by Women Breaking Plates
- The Full Body YES!
