It has been estimated that upwards of 3 to 5% of the adult population struggles with some sort of sex addiction, which is in the millions here in the United States. Add to that the number of partners and family members who are affected, and this addiction touches millions more.
In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I’m fortunate to be joined by Jenni Rochelle, a certified life coach and advocate for women who have been impacted by their husband’s sex addiction or have experienced betrayal trauma. Jenni shares with us her personal story of discovering that her former husband is a sex addict, her own resulting trauma, how she found support, and how she has turned her pain into purpose by helping other women who have similar struggles.
In this episode, Jenni and I discuss the following:
- What is sex addiction?
- What is betrayal trauma?
- What should someone do if they suspect their partner has a sex addiction?
- What kind of support does a partner of a sex addict need?
- What is the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model?
- How Jenni works with and supports women who have experienced having a partner with a sex addiction
